Solarliquid L

Short Description: Solarliquid L

Solarliquid L is a powerful antifreeze with a long service life. It is used in solar thermal systems. In particular, flat and vacuum tube collectors made of copper and solig aluminum absorbers can be operated with Solarliquid L.

Solarliquid L is produced on the basis of monopropylene glycol. The odorless, clear liquid can be specifically colored if necessary. It is non-toxic and readily biodegradable.

Solarliquid L is available in various dilutions and package sizes.

Advantages

  • Solarliquid L can be mixed with water. To protect your system against corrosion, the proportion of Solarliquid L in dilutions must be at least 25% by volume.
  • You can mix Solarliquid L with all antifreeze agents that are based on propylene glycol.
  • Solarliquid L is free of ethylhexanoic acid and its salts and is free of nitrite, nitrate, secondary amine, phosphate, borate and silicate-free.
  • It is ideal for all-aluminum absorbers.

Application

Solarliquid L is a cooling brine or heat transfer fluid that is used in solar thermal systems. It contains special substances that prevent Solarliquid L from attacking the materials frequently used in system and heating construction. Your system is thus optimally protected against corrosion, stratification and deposits. The efficiency of your system is maintained. Sealing materials are also not affected by Solarliquid L.

Please note:

  • The circulation pump must be suitable for operation with antifreeze.
  • Flush your system with water before filling it with Solarliquid L. Check all connections for leaks by squeezing them.
  • Fill the system with Solarliquid L immediately after pressurizing.
  • Do not introduce air!
  • Zinc is not resistant to glycols. Therefore, do not use any galvanized system components.

Optimum operating temperature

The optimum operating temperature for Solarliquid L is between -28°C and 170°C. We therefore recommend an application concentration of 50% Solarliquid L concentrate and 50% demineralized water.

Please note:

  • At continuous temperatures of more than 170°C, we recommend installing sufficiently large expansion tanks so that the heat transfer fluid can drain from the collectors.
  • At temperatures above 200°C, a slow chemical change in the heat transfer fluid begins, which can jeopardize the operational safety of the system. For these applications, we recommend our Solarliquid HT ready for use (up to approx. 260°C).
